CHP Says Prescription Meds, Unsafe Turn Factors in Death of Savana Price
Price was killed in a single-car crash in June.
The inquiry into the cause of a crash that killed a Fairfield teenager in June is complete.
California Highway Patrol Public Information Officer Chris Parker stated that the official cause of the crash was driving under the influence of prescription medication. There is also an associated factor of an unsafe turning movement, Parker said.
At about 5:30 a.m. on June 22, Savana Price, 16, was found near her 1999 Nissan Frontier which had struck a tree on Ramsey Road, north of Gold Hill Road. Authorities said Price was not wearing a seat belt and had been partially ejected from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Following her death, an outpouring of sympathy and support from friends and family over poured over social media sites. A memorial was set up at the site of the accident where many have left flowers and other items. Price was a popular student at Rodriguez High School, who played soccer for the school, according to her coach.
