Little League 11-12 All-Stars: Suisun American Loses 23-0

13-run second inning seals game for Napa Nationals

The Suisun American 11-12 All-Stars team managed only one hit on the losing end of a 23-0 score from Napa National in the first round of the District 53 All-Star tournament Saturday.

“We faced a Napa National team that is pretty solid,” Suisun manager Tim Campbell said. “They went deep in regionals last year and they’re going to go deep again. They’re - in my opinion - the team to beat.”

Napa’s four-run first was just a sign of things to come, as the home team exploded for 13 runs in the second and tacked on six more in the third before the mercy rule was enforced after the top of the fourth.

Napa’s big second inning featured a grand slam by Luke Lipanovich and a two-run home run by Tyler Rustice. Its six-run third inning had Rick Vincent belt a grand slam to deep center field.

Suisun’s lone hit came from a Zach Salazar, who smashed a hard-hit single to right field in the third inning. Christian Campbell, Jordan Ross and Deron Washington all drew walks for Suisun.
