As for the Longest Day of the Year, this golfer has the right idea. On June 18, 1986 when I livedRead Morei n Memphis, we set up a fund raiser for the Cancer Society. The Mississippi River is common to, Mississippi, Arkansas and Tennessee. Along that tri-state river area there are 21 golf courses. Our hostess for that "Longest Day of Golf" was Ms. Lynda Carter, the famous WONDER WOMAN star. She traveled to these golf courses to bolster support for the players. Each of the teams started the day around 4:30 a.m. with a ball on each of the starting tees and began to play. As soon as they reached the next hole, there was a ball on each of the tees and they quickly began their play and continued to each hole. At the end of the day, which was nearly 9 p.m., my team came in second with 140 holes of golf. Supporters and I pledged a certain amount for each hole that they played. When the final results were in, the foundation had raised $50,000 in just one day. It was a long day for everyone, but when you have a lovely hostess like Lynda Carter cheering you on, it makes your day. I have a photo of this event which I can post here if I knew how to do so. Dave
