Suisun City sensation Dennis Statewright, also known as the Corner Dancing Guy in Suisun City, is liked for his upbeat personality and dancing as he holds advertising signs at the corner of Highway 12 and Sunset Avenue.

After Suisun City Patch posted a video about Statewright, his Facebook fan page added hundreds of followers from its start of 36. Now Statewright has roughly 1,500 fans, and there are efforts now to get him even more recognition.

“KCRA news station in Sacramento contacted me about doing a story on Dennis Thomas Statewright,” wrote fan page creator Anissa Cooke on Statewright’s fan page.

Cooke began the fan page as a way to support Statewright and also encourage fans to join in the effort of raising money for him to go to school. She contacted KCRA and other media outlets to rally in more support. A little more than $700 away from his goal, Statewright plans to transfer this Fall to the Art Academy in San Francisco.

“I’ve just been trying to save my money,” he said.
