Dancing Man Becomes Local Facebook Sensation

The Corner Dancing Guy in Suisun City has gone viral.

Dennis Statewright, the man residents know as the Corner Dancing Guy in Suisun City on his Facebook fan page, has gone from a virtual unknown to Suisun’s newest notoriety: Where his fan page had 36 likes before Suisun City Patch posted a video of his high kick dance moves and his story about saving money for college, it now has nearly 1,000 likes.

One of the fan page creators wrote on the page Tuesday:

“This has been a mind blowing 24 hours. Almost exactly one day ago Dennis had 36 Fans. I went on a campaigning spree with all my contacts, organizations, groups and local public figures and look what has been accomplished. Dennis Thomas Statewright is amazing and now we are fast approaching 700. What an inspiration!!!”

Area resident Robert Lee wrote on the page, “He is an inspiration to everyone who sees him. No matter what kind of day I'm having, as soon as I drive by and see him dancing and having a great time, it puts a smile on my face and gives me a boost of positive energy. Keep doin the good work!”

Statewright said in one post he is overwhelmed by the attention: “Wow. Im just greatly positively overwhelmed how when the community comes together they make great things happen,” he said.
