Get Out Weekend Planner for Suisun City And Beyond

Things to do, places to go and people to see

Thursday already and still no plans? Have no fear, Suisun City Patch is here with  few suggestions of interesting and fun ways to spend your weekend. 

1. BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Where/When:  Suisun City Library on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go: Celebrate Black History month and view exhibits of Black History month posters, listen to speakers and join in reading “Life Doesn’t Frighten Me,” a Maya Angelou poem to rhythms by DJ Lynn. Witness the 3rd Annual Black History Month Contest:  “Let Your Voice Be Heard” Oratorical Competition.

2. LIFE SKILLS         

Where/When: Suisun City Library on Saturday, Feb. 26 at 11 a.m. 

Why Go: The perfect place for a teenager to develop or learn more about life skills.

Pricing: Free

Where/When:  110 Railroad Ave. Suite E on Feb. 26 at 10 a.m.

Why Go: An orientation for those who are interested in volunteering for Habitat for Humanity; a non-profit Christian organization who work together to provide affordable housing in the Solano and Napa areas.

Pricing: Free. Please call to reserve a seat.

Where/When:  Suisun City Senior Community Center on Friday, Feb. 25 from 9 a.m. to noon.

Why Go: Bring your own supplies and learn to knit, crochet and needlepoint with your fellow neighbors.

Pricing: $1 per session.

 

5.

Where/When:  Dixon Senior/Multi-Use Center in Dixon, Ca. on Thursday, Feb. 24 from 5:45 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Why Go:  Sweat out the week’s stresses away and finish off your Thursday night with a high-impact, step aerobics class!

 Pricing: $30 for residents and $37.50 for non-residents. Good for eight sessions.
