Hey Suisun City, What Issues Do You Want to Talk About in 2013?

Tell us what you want us to cover in the comments below, and share this story with your friends and family in town.

Now that the holidays are behind us, we want to take a moment to look forward at 2013 to see what local issues we should be covering.

Us editors took a bit of time off during the holidays to relax with family and recharge our batteries, but now we’re back, and we really want you to guide our coverage going forward.

So Suisun City, what should we be covering in 2013? Whether it’s a simple news tip or a broad issue or subject, please tell us what you want to discuss in the months that lie ahead.

The three of us (Justin, Cody and Josh) are here to converse with you in the comments below this article.

We don't have the ability to cover everything in town, so we want your help in allocating our energy toward things you want to read about. Feel free to tell us why your suggested issue is important.

It might be nice to continue the what we should do to improve Suisun, now that the holidays are over.

I agree, Alan. Btw, I loved your ideas regarding a good place for a dog park, and making Highway 12 in Susiun City stand out in some way...

Ladies and Gentlemen: Happy New Year. I want to see something done about the poor paving on Walters Road. Counselman Hudson and I went up and down this street and noting how dangerous it is becoming with the tree roots coming up through the pavement. Some of the more serious spots were corrected, but in time, there are additional problems with roots coming up alongside the center divider, and the holes that were filled are sinking below the surface of the pavement. It is a matter of public safety that this be corrected, and if it means removing a tree, since the roots will eventually come back up,then why not do it? Additionally, I spoke to the city engineers about the poor street lighting in this city. When you go to Fairfield you can see that they have replaced their inefficient lights with new and much brighter white lights. It takes fewer of these lights to cover a given area than the yellow-orange lights that are in use in Suisun. When we get an increase in traffic on Walters Road once Walmart gets finished, the safety factor is more critical. The lights on Sunset and Highway 12 have never been adequate, and we blame CalTrans for that, when public safety for our citizens should be reason enough for Suisun City engineers to change the current lights themselves. I have lived here for 22 years and think that by now, these safety concerns should have been met without delay. How much longer will it take City Hall to address these public safety issues in Suisun City?

When will Suisun City engineers remove the dangerous tree roots that are along the divider and coming up through the pavement causing on Walters Road ? Also, when will Suisun City change their current street lighting to the much improved white lighting that is being done throughout Fairfield? Both of these issues are critical to public safety.

Why are you rejecting every comment that I make for this public forum?

Hi David, If you feel the Patch editors are rejecting you, you might want to start a Patch blog. It's very easy to set up and your ideas/concerns will not be limited by what the editors find interesting and important.
