Letter To The Editor: Stop The Banks' Puppet Game

Mike Melnicoff writes to ask the President to stop the banks that abuse short sales and the VA loan process.

Dear Mister President, I know and feel that you are one of the greatest Presidents our country will ever have in decades as you truly have a feel for America and our great country. You have seen firsthand our triumphs and failures and this is why I ask for you to read this letter. I am a USAF Veteran!

Please hear me It has become clear to me that banks who have houses for short sales are dragging their feet and disregarding your policy for timely sales by using puppet tactics in order to slow sales and drive prices up beyond market values, again furthering our nations instability in the housing market to maximize their own profits rather than relive the financial and economic duress of the American taxpayers.

Banks are now listing houses and holding offers like a carrot on a stick then demanding buyers who made legitimate offers based on the selling price to remake higher offers like it was an eBay sale! This sort of practice needs to be stopped immediately as the banks make more money due to our tax dollars being given to them on short sales with no time limits.

The banks need to be held accountable for these time limits and accept the offers listed as sales prices asked rather than price gauging the American people for homes. It is unfair to the original owners that the banks make a profit yet the owners lose everything! If the banks can make a profit then some of that money should go back to the original owner. Cut the puppet strings while you can! This is no way for our country to recover from a recession and get back on track to recovery!

Where is the buyer and seller protection in this process? If the banks wish to auction a home then do so but to twist the sales process in between by some loophole of fair business practices and process should be illegal! I implore you to step in and resolve this issue immediately. Americans deserve a home they can call their own not be subject to some silly bankers game to profit from!

I certainly did not serve my country to simply come home and play a puppet to a collection bankers who abused the system and do so again and again with wishes to rip American citizens souls out for every penny and bleed Americans dry while they stayed home safe and sat in comfort and the protection of America soils! We Americans deserve that protection of American soil as well!

When will the American people get a fair shake? Do what is honorable and right or get these shady bankers out of the game! We can't move forward as a Nation while being held crippled by unethical financial practices. This what made wall street crash! Please put your foot down and stop this abuse of the American people by unethical financial practices!

I have found my VA loan to be worthless as I am forced to put money down to cover closing costs on any home I am interested in along with having to pay the 3.5% VA loan fee just to be considered to buy a home. This is due to the current sales practices by Banks who make a profit from short sales and bleeding the American people at every chance. Besides limbs and life how much more do we veterans have to give to our country just to get fair treatment and serving our country honorably?

Thank you, Sgt Mike Melnicoff USAF Honorably Discharged Veteran
