Mission Solano Gives Boxes Of Hope Today

Nonprofit expects hundreds of families in need to show up

Mission Solano will be working with the Salvation Army this year to bring “Boxes of Hope,” the nonprofit’s program for reaching out to families in need this Thanksgiving with a complete meal. Distribution will begin today at its Community Outreach Center, 740 Travis Boulevard at 10 a.m.

“As we do every year, we have carefully registered families and individuals for this year’s Thanksgiving Boxes of Hope outreach,” said Rod Malloy, Chief Operations Officer.

According to a press release by Mission Solano, the amount of families requesting assistance has raised considerable in the last 72 hours. Donations, too, have pooled in from around the county, just in time for Mission Solano to be able to meet the needs of the hundreds of families they expect to show up during distribution.

If you didn’t get a chance to sign up for Boxes of Hope, Mission Solano invites you to join them for a free Thanksgiving feast “with all the trimmings,” this Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Fairfield-Suisun Adult School, 900 Travis Boulevard.

“We will continue to provide a hand up to those in our community through our food outreach:  turkeys, hams, eggs, bread, stuffing, vegetables and of course, desserts -- enough food to help a family for the whole Thanksgiving holiday weekend,” said Ron Marlette, Founder and Executive
Director.
