Suisun City Waterfront District to Hold Annual Art, Wine and Chocolate Event

Enjoy the waterfront and tantalize your taste buds.

Do you like chocolate or wine? How about art? An upcoming event at the Suisun Waterfront may be just what you are looking for.

The Eighth annual Art, Wine & Chocolate event, sponsored by the Suisun City Waterfront Improvement District, will be held on Saturday Oct. 6, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and features craft booths, wine sipping and of course, chocolate.

“We have about 12 wineries this year, about 87 crafters, (and) about 12 to 15 chocolate vendors,” said Laura Cole-Rowe, of the Suisun City Waterfront District. “We have our chocolate bake-off which is done by the Fairfield-Suisun Rotary.”

She added about 3,000 people attend the yearly event and about 700 individuals sample the many vintages that are the hallmark of this event.

Cole-Rowe said for those who love chocolate, there will be several candy vendors available as well including Just Caking It, Monterey Chocolate Company, Vintage Sweet Shop, Black Cat Confections, Gifts by Robin, Kiss My Licorice, Cocoa Diva Chocolate Bar and Harry and David.

Wine tasting costs $20 and event attendees receive a commemorative wine glass and eight, one-ounce pours. A wine shop tent will also be available for the sale of wine bottles.

Wineries include Purple Pearl, Sunset Cellars, Winterhawk Winery, Ehlers Estate Winery, Greenhouse Cellars, and several more.

Event goers can also look forward to live music performed by "Westbound 80" from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and "Used Blues" from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. In addition, there will also be activities for children.

Cole-Rowe said this year those who want to attend the event can buy their tickets in advance.

“You can buy them in advance by going to our website and clicking on the link for Brown Paper Tickets,” she said. “That saves you from a really long line to buy tickets for the event. For the first time this year, we are accepting credit cards at the event.”

It will actually be held on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is sponsored by the Suisun City Waterfront Business Improvement District. We apologize for the errors.
