Suisun City Library Offers Space for Hobbies

The library makes it easy as it invites clubs to anchor at its location

Got a hobby or special interest? The would like you to share it with others. Clubs are sprouting up at the library from people in the community who enjoy a variety of activities, and there is still room for more.

“We have a jewelry club that meets here periodically, we have a needlecrafts class that meets here periodically,” said Jim Silverman, young adult librarian. “So anyone in the community who would like to share their hobby, passion, that kind of thing, they should definitely get in touch with me and we’ll see if we can offer them some space and help them find some new friends to share what their interested in.”

Silverman said one of the newest events is an essential oils club that began on Thursday. There is also a dance class that will be offered on Tuesday nights.

“It’s kind of the traditional, folkloric type dance,” said Silverman.

Silverman said all that is needed to begin the club is expressed interest from two or three in an activity, so just about any subject might work.

“It could be a book club…also be a garden club, or it can be a club that’s interested in making Suisun a better place one way or another,” said Silverman. “Just come talk to me and we’ll see if we can make it possible.”
