Summer fun returns to Suisun City

Suisun City has a load of events planned for you and the whole family this summer. Take a look below at some of the new and returning events!

Shore Fest - Rock 'n' Roll Beach Party (June 11): Who doesn’t like a beach party? On Saturday, June 11, come to the Suisun Waterfront at Main and Solano Street to hear live music from the Landsharks and other performances. Other attractions include a simulated ice skating rink (skates provided), giant slide, and ferris wheel. At dusk, enjoy the free evening movie, “How to Train Your Dragon.” For more information on this event, including its Sunday schedule, visit the website.

State Firemen’s Muster (June 11-12): The State Firemen’s Muster returns to the waterfront on Saturday, June 11, and Sunday, June 12. Firemen throughout the state compete against each other in this unique event. Before the competition begins, however, grab a bite to eat at the Firemen’s Pancake Breakfast at 8:00 p.m., then join the parade of antique firefighting equipment at 9:00 a.m. For more information on this event, including its Sunday schedule, visit the website.

Tops in Blue (June14): Live music by the Air Force's premiere worldwide touring entertainment unit.” With more than 35 vocalists from Travis Air Force Base, Tops in Blue will be performing its Broadway musical review at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14 at the Harbor Plaza. Tickets are free, but require an RSVP. For tickets or more information, click here.

Friday Nights on the Waterfront (June 24 to August 26 excluding July 4 weekend): This concert series will feature a variety of acts and musical genres. Performances include the Latin music group "Sapo Guapo," New Orleans fusion band "Tom Rigney and Flambeau," and "The Time Bandits." This free waterfront attraction is on Fridays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. For more information on this event, including a schedule of other performers, click here.

Saturday Night @ the Movies (June 25 to August 27 excluding July 4 weekend): Saturday night movies will be picking right back up this summer. Bring the family out for movies such as “Shark Tale,” "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory," “Kung Fu Panda,” and “Despicable Me.” Movies are free and will be shown on Saturdays at dusk (around 8:30 p.m.) For more information, including a complete schedule of movies to be shown, click here.

The Waterfront Jazz Series (June 19 to August 28) : An afternoon of jazz at the waterfront. Come out to hear jazz artists Delbert Bump, Uncorked Blues Band, and Alive Music Orchestra in this wonderful return of Suisun Waterfront favorite of many. The Waterfront Jazz Series will be held every Sunday, from 3:00p.m. to 5:00 p.m. For more information, and for a list of other artists participating, click here.

Independence Day Spectacular (July 4): Music, crafts and food will be at the waterfront on July from 11 a.m. to dusk. At nightfall, view the city’s grand firework spectacular. If you have never been to a Suisun City fireworks show, treat yourself this year. You’ll want to come early, as parking fills up quickly. This event will go on until 10:30 p.m.

National Night Out (August 2): Another reason to bring your family out and celebrate with your community. Join the countrywide party and participate in the games and other fun planned for the night. More importantly, teach your kids about crime prevention and keeping our neighborhoods safe. National Night Out will be held at Heritage Park from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Suisun Harbor Criterium Bike Races (August 14): The California Cup hosts this event for the professional and amateur cyclist, alike. Seven races will include seven different divisions of racers from juniors to top level for male and female racers. The first race begins at 8:00 a.m. and the last race will begin at 12:30 p.m. For more information on the bike races, click here.
