Suisun City residents are invited to come out to clean trash and debris from local urban creeks, marshes, and bays, as part of the statewide California Coastal Cleanup Day. Last year, the three-hour citizen event coordinated by Fairfield-Suisun Sewer District collected nearly 4000 pounds of trash and recyclables from just the Suisun Waterfront and Estuary, the area, and Belden’s Landing. Locally, throughout the cities of Suisun City and Fairfield the 2011 Coast & Creek Cleanup volunteers covered 23 miles of waterways.
