Friday:  

Sapo Guapo returns to the Friday Nights at the Waterfront concert series.  Sapo Guapo is a melting pot of cultural diversity, their goal is to enlighten and educate audiences of all the different Latin cultures.  Tonight, the band will be rockin' the Plaza and bringing the sizzle to salsa!

If you go: The free concert runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on at Main Street and Solano Street in Suisun City.

Ever thought about running off to the circus?  No need, it's coming here! Yup, the circus is in town. The Suisun City Police & Fire Boosters is proud to present The American Crown Circus, terrific entertainment for the entire family while supporting our local public safety personnel.

If you go: Tickets are only $5.00. There are two shows on Saturday, Sunday and Monday 5:30 & 7:30 p.m. as well as an earlier show at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday with doors opening half an hour before showtime. The Big Top is located at Highway 12 and Marina Boulevard (across from Arco), in Suisun City.

 

Saturday:

Join amateur astronomer, Jim Jerrell, for a night of stargazing at . Jim, who has 30 plus years experience, will give a brief lecture and answer questions on all things celestial, as well as offer insight into the popular field of amateur astronomy. The class will take place in the Nature Center, afterwards everyone will move outside and begin the stargazing. Several telescopes will be on hand, but please feel free to bring your own scopes and binoculars. Please be familiar with the setup of your own scope. Children are welcome. Please bring warm clothing and mosquito repellent.

If you go: This free event is sponsored by the Rush Ranch Educational Council and the Solano Land Trust, owners of Rush Ranch. The star gazing is from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at , 2 miles south of Highway 12 in Suisun City on Grizzly Island Road.

 

Saturday:

What a great way to start the weekend! Join EcoDelight Coffee Master Roaster Guillermo Moran as he demonstrates the fine art of roasting coffee. It's a lot more complicated than you think, and you will gain a better knowledge of coffee and different coffee roasts.  Can't you just smell the coffee?

If you go: The roasting demonstration is from 10 a.m. till noon at , 700 Main street in Suisun City.

 

Saturday:

Come out tonight and watch the original 1971 version of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Bring a blanket or low-slung chair for lawn seating, your favorite snacks, and enjoy the movie.  Oompa Loompa doompadee doo!

If you go: The free movie starts at dusk (around 8:30 p.m.) on Harbor Plaza at Main Street and Solano Street.

Sunday:

Enjoy live jazz music, The Uncorked Blues Band on the shores of Suisun Marina. Bring your family and friends to the Waterfront District for an afternoon of great music. Don’t forget your blanket or low chair!
If you go: The concerts are from 3-5 p.m. on Harbor Plaza at Main Street and Solano Street.

 

Sunday:

Let the magical sounds of steel drum music transport you to the islands as you enjoy A Tropical Afternoon in the Admiral’s Garden benefiting the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. The festivities include a wine tasting as well as live music provided by the premier steel drum band, Shabang. The afternoon continues with a tropical gourmet lunch by Englund’s Catering followed by a dessert tasting tent featuring local pastry chefs, and decorators.Tours of the mansions, St. Peter’s Chapel and the Naval Museum are included in your registration fee. Lunchtime entertainment will be provided by the Singing Blue Stars of the USS Hornet (back by popular demand), performing music of the 40’s and 50’s. Mingle and chat with Survivor TV stars Yau-Man Chan, Sylvia Kwan, Sonja Christopher, Cecilia Mansilla, and other local media celebrities. And don’t forget to wear your favorite island outfit!

If you go: This wonderful afternoon is $75 per person or two for $140. Bring extra cash, checks or a credit card if you wish to participate in auctions or games.
