Wind Advisory Issued For Commuters

Windy conditions may make driving difficult today, especially on bridges.

A wind advisory will be in effect for coastal and hill areas of the Bay Area later today, according to the National Weather Service.

However, as of early this morning the California Highway Patrol has issued a wind advisory for the Bay Bridge.

The warning went into effect after just before 1 a.m. for drivers on the bridge, according to the CHP.

The National Weather Service advisory is set to begin at noon and remain in place until midnight.

Winds gusts of at least 45 mph are expected today along the San Francisco coast and onto southern Monterey, according to weather officials.

The hills in the East and North Bay along with the Santa Cruz Mountains are also expected to be impacted by windy weather.

These windy conditions can make driving difficult. Weather officials advise caution while driving, especially in a high profile vehicle.
