Hula Hut's Interesting Hawaiian and Filipino Cuisine
Suisun City Patch's out of town restaurant pick of the week
You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, Suisun City Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice:
The Hula Hut in Benicia blends Hawaiian style cuisine with authentic Filipino dishes. Set in a polynesian themed restaurant with framed, black and white photos of traditional hula dancers, bamboo lined walls, melodic island tunes and severs dressed in tank tops, flip flops and "sarongs" (Hawaiian wrap worn as a skirt or dress), one can't help but feel like they're at an authentic Hawaiian luau- minus the beach! Hula Hut's menu offers rare food finds like traditional Hawaiian roasted pork, chicken long rice, saimin, pork and salmon wrapped and cooked in taro leaves, chicken and pork adobo, lumpia (Filipino spring roll), pancit (Filipino noodle dish) and more. Exotic juices and beer and wine are also available. Located right next door is the Hula Hut Cake Shop where guests can sample and order gourmet cakes made in a variety of tropical flavors.
So allow Hula Hut to be your local Hawaiian get away and experience some authentic "aloha" while you dine.
