City of Fairfield Sign Off Highway 12 To Be Completed Soon
Artwork for sign expected to be finished soon
Taking a cue from Suisun City, the Fairfield Main Street Association placed a large sign promoting downtown Fairfield events at the corner of Highway 12 and Pennsylvanie Avenue.
The sign appeared on the side of the highway just weeks ago by the association, but for a while it had been missing some artwork.
“The art is in the hands of the sign maker, so we’ve approved it,” said Fairfield Main Street Association Executive Director Margaret Manzo. “We’re just wating for the actual overlays to be printed and go up.”

The purpose of the sign is to bring business to Fairfield’s downtown business district. Manzo said the association is committee based and a design committee was still working on putting together art for the sign, while another committee was waiting on a permit to dig.
Artwork went up previously this week to cover half of the sign. Manzo expects the project to be completed within the next week or so.

“This is kind of how these projects go up," she said. "They go up in phases."
