Eco-Delight Coffee Reopens With New Focus

With morning hours and a focus on wholesale, Guillermo Moran and his partners embark on a new phase of the business.

I stopped in this morning at Eco-Delight Coffee and found co-owner Guillermo Moran ready to sell me a bag of a new roast of El Salvadoran coffee. It was a tough choice between that and the Columbian roast, but how could I say no?

Moran was really waiting for City Councilman Mike Segala to help him install a new espresso machine. In the meantime, we talked about the new hours and the new focus of Eco-Delight Coffee.

"We have decided to focus on importing coffee beans from our single-origin countries, selling the green beans wholesale to independent roasters, selling raosted beans to independent coffee shops and businesses or people who come to the storefront," he said.

Moran hinted there might be more news in the future, but for now he announced a deal he set up with a coffee shop called Javaddictions at a Caltrain station in San Mateo that will need potentially hundreds of pounds of roasted beans each month.

Plus, the exposure on the west side of the San Francisco Bay won't hurt.
