Cell phones have made our lives extremely convenient in many ways, but they can also be extremely frustrating -- especially when dropped calls and poor reception become an issue. 

There are also issues of inconsistent billing and overage fees by some providers.

There are times that I feel we do not have a strong signal to the towers in the Suisun City area. Calls sometimes "drop" and you lose contact with your other party. I do not know where the signal towers are here or how far away they are. I wonder how so many calls can be handled at the same time and not break up, but the electronics of today is getting more users all the time. I changed my service from AT&T today to T-Mobile because they gave me a much cheaper rate for my two iPhones and I do not have to pay extra for unlimited data use, texting, etc. Competition is good and the consumer can choose the best carrier for their phone and data service. I will soon know if I made the right decision to switch services, but I did save $55 a month when I did. PACRATFLT

AT&T is terrible at the waterfront - they told me to get a micro-tower, which I did - I still can't get decent reception in my home office which is only 50 feet away from the micro-tower! I understand the rest of the carriers are not much better.

I changed my service from AT&T to Mobile One because they offered a much less expensive rate for my iPhones and iPad data. They have unlimited data service at Mobile 1. I saved more than $50/mo. with them. As for reception and outgoing signals, there are times your calls fade depending on your location to the nearest tower, but overall, service in the Suisun City area is good. PACRATFLT

Mine is very sporadic. AT&T offers much for the iPhone but the reception for the "big boy" on the block is not great. I think we need more towers here since our area is outside of Sacramento and SFO where we do much of our business

We have T-Mobile. Overall we're ok with them. The attraction is their pricing structure for their services. T-Mo's cellular reception from my home has gotten better since they added a tower. It used to be that we lost connection when walking around the house during conversations. But, T-Mo reception is terrible when we visit friends in Paradise Valley, some parts off Hillborn and in most parts of Rancho Solano reception is pretty much non-existent.

I switched from AT&T to T-Mobile because of their unlimited data service. AT&T charged me $14.99 for that service. I have two iPhones and an iPad which require large amounts of data. I saved more than $55.00 by switching to T-Mobile. In addition, the signal strength with T-Mobile is much stronger. That is important when you are mobile and are using hands-free equipment.

We have AT&T and are satisfied with the coverage in Suisun, Fairfield and at Travis. My daughter, who is on our family plan,could only receive and make calls while standing next to a window in her San Francisco apartment. My sister-in-law, also on our plan, has similar issues in Albany. Neither tried the micro tower.

We use ATT, we have had many dropped calls in every room in our house. We complained and asked for an atena booster for our phones & they told us we have good reception in our area & would not. We complained again & were told the problem had to be on our end because test shows reception is good in our area. We were told we must have a lot of concrete & steele around us, we live in Quail Glen, in a wood frame house as are the houses around us. The nearest cell tower was in Sunset Center not far from us but we do not see a tower in Sunset Center, maybe it is hidden, but we continue eo have problems. We only have one bar showing on our phone, go figure!!
