Old World Christmas Market Starts Black Friday

Ditch the mall this Black Friday and find gifts at the Old World Christmas Market

If you want to do a little shopping this Black Friday without waiting in hour long lines, consider the opening day of the The market will be entering its 3rd year of offering handcrafted Christmas items, great eats and live music this holiday season.

“We have about 40 vendors signed up for (the market),” said Brenda Mossa, event coordinator.

Hosted by the Suisun City Historic Waterfront Business Improvement District, the Old World Christmas Market combines the tradition of the old European markets with the all the excitement of Christmas cheer. It runs for two consecutive weekends on November 25 — 27 and simultaneously with on December 2 — 4.

“We are more just the market, where we will have the entertainment and the booths for people to walk around,” Mossa said. “(Christmas at the Waterfront) is more of a family activity day.”

Visitors will have lots of art and items to choose from, including hair accessories, quilted jackets, original art, handmade puppets, and jewelry. A photographer will also be present to offer family pictures with a choice of background to make your day a memorable event.

In addition to holiday crafts, booths serving food will be available. Snack items as well as packaged foods will be there and offer items such as cupcakes, nuts, honey, organic jams and jellies, specialty olive oils, and gourmet treats. There will be food donations in food bins for anyone who would like to bring canned or dry packaged foods such as pasta.

“I always believe that every Christmas event should have donation bins, because there are so many people who don’t have what we have and it’s a nice way to share,” Mossa said.

Mossa said musical guests will play both contemporary music and Christmas songs.  Suisun City natives, The Pine DOGZ will be the headliners for the Christmas market each day from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. each day.

  • 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Erin Solomon - Young singer-songwriter performing Christmas and contemporary songs


Sat 11/26

 

  • 10 to 10:45 a.m. Dom Baza - Young singer-songwriter who just cut his first single.
  • 11 to 11:45 a.m. Erin Solomon (see above)
  • 12 to 12:45 p.m. DancSing Stars Studio directed by Carole Warren


Sun 11/27

 

  • 10 to 10:45 a.m. Dom Baza -Singer-songwriter
  • 11 to 11:45 a.m. Missouri St Theatre Dance Team directed by Kat McFadden
  • 12 to 12:45 p.m. Erin Solomon - Singer-songwriter


The Old World Christmas Market will be held rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. The following weekend it will be open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
