Vice Mayor Bites Dogs

Mike Hudson won a hot dog eating contest that was part of a grand opening celebration for The Waterfront Cafe Friday.

While Councilman Mike Segala and Vice Mayor Mike Hudson may not see eye to eye most times on the council dias, they teamed up to support The Waterfront Cafe at the train station Friday in its hot dog eating contest.

While Segala emceed the affair, Hudson put his support where his mouth was -- literally, by eating six hotdogs and blowing away the competition.

And who said there wasn't any such thing as a free lunch?

After the contest, there was a raffle for various prizes, including two pounds of Eco-Delight Coffee, two dozen Sunset Donuts and a free outdoor professional photoshoot by KFS Photography at a $175 value.

The winner of the hotdog eating contest received a gift certificate to the Hampton Inn & Suites hotel.
