Video: A Peek at the California Carnival

If you were interested in going to the just off Highway 12 at Marina Boulevard, but wanted to know what was there, check out our video to get an idea of the rides and attractions available. The carnival will be open for the next three days, from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 on Saturday, and from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. After Monday, the carnival will leave Suisun City.

Admission is free. An average ride costs four tickets, though rides take anywhere from three to six tickets. Ticket prices are $20 for 25 tickets, $40 for 60 tickets. Unlimited ride wristbands are $20 and will be sold the duration of the carnival between 12:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Unlimited ride wristbands are good only until 10:00 p.m.

The Carnival returned to the 30-acre parcel across from ARCO this year, where before 2010 it had been at the lot south of the post office.

Suisun City Kiwanis Club members helped bring the carnival to Suisun City, and some proceeds from the carnival go to Kiwanis scholarships and patriotic programs.

The 30-acre parcel is  prime location for the carnival, said Kiwanis member Mike Segala, who is also a city councilman.

Segala said the location helped the carnival bring in $8,000 in proceeds last year. And security is not a concern at the California Carnival, where uniformed and plainclothes guards will keep the peace and workers there have to undergo background checks for working with children.

"So many children in California have never experienced the excitement of a carnival," he said.
