Local Earthquake Maps Newly Available Online

The USGS went high-tech with maps from the 1970s

A huge swath of Suisun City is listed in a fault rupture hazard zone, according to maps placed online last week by the U.S. Geological Survey.

Downtown is covered by a fault zone danger area, as well as much of the central part of the city and Lawler Ranch.

The Alquist-Priolo Earthquake Fault Zone maps made their debut on Friday, showing quake-sensitive regions across California in a searchable data base with PDF map downloads of individual maps, many of which have not been updated since the early 1970s.
