Thirsty Ground To Get Its Water: Rain On The Way
The forecast calls for rain, or the chance of it, through next Wednesday.
It's been beautiful, it's been cold and it's been a trying time for plants and lawns. Our last rain came on Dec. 15, but our last real rain came in November.
Now a new storm is on the way. The National Weather Service reports rain for Thursday -- 100 percent chance of it -- with a high near 54 degrees. We could get between a quarter and a half inch of rain.

Friday: Rain. High near 56 degrees. Southeast wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Friday Night: Rain. Low around 44 degrees. South wind between 9 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.
Saturday: A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 58 degrees.
