Celebrate the Olive Season at Il Fiorello’s

Community Milling Day December 1st  



Suisun Valley, CALIF. – Every
harvest season Il Fiorello Olive Oil Company opens its doors to anyone with a small
amount of olives to be made into olive oil. On Sunday, December 1, those with harvested
olives can toss their batch into the community bin and take home freshly milled
oil.

“This is an opportunity for folks
with one or two olive trees to turn that fruit into beautiful oil.” said Ann
Sievers, owner of Il Fiorello. “And, they get to see the production process
firsthand.” 

The
milling rate is $0.75 per pound of olives. There is no minimum quantity
required, but olives must arrive at the mill between 9:00 a.m.
and noon. Sievers recommends harvesting olives that morning or the day before
because freshly-harvested olives make better oil.

Even those without olives can enjoy activities
including horse-drawn carriage rides with wine and hors d’oeuvres ($15),
holiday wreath-making demonstrations and olive oil and balsamic vinegar tastings,
and open viewing of the mill in operation.

Il
