On April 14th, I went to a dinner that re-created some of what the first class passengers enjoyed for their last supper before the sinking of the Titanic. I am not a great fan of the Titanic era, but I couldn't pass up the chance to try this out! I am a slow seamstress, so I asked a friend to sew the dress for me. I picked out a pretty peridot shantung and we got very creative with re-using an old dress that just wasn't appropriate to wear any more. Even thought I did not making my own dress I decided to make beaded ribbons for my hair. Peridot, pearls and two kinds of ribbons were hand sewn to make pretties for my hair...
The event was held at the Bellevue Club on Lake Merrit in Oakland.
