Kroc Center Rolls Out Job Opportunities, Easter Activities

The Kroc Center rolled out job opportunities on its website this week, and announced plans for Easter.

CORRECTION: The Easter Service is at the Kroc Welcome Center in the suite next to Chase Bank in the old Hollywood Video space.

The Salvation Army folks are at full speed as construction on the Kroc Center is in the home stretch.

How close is the facility to opening on May 26th? Well, Salvation Army Capt. Jonathan Harvey said the infrastructure for the computers is due to be installed next week, and in may the office staff currently housed at the old Hollywood Video on Sunset Avenue (next to Chase Bank) will move to the Kroc Center.

And that's just some of the positions they are tyring to get hired by the beginning of May. Go to www.gokroc.com to learn more. The Kroc Center will have a staff of 70 people when it's at capacity.

Harvey said all staff will undergo child safety training, including basic first aid. The aquatics coordinator is a certified EMT, he said.

Easter Happenings:

The Kroc Welcome Center is holiding a Palm Sunday Worship service at 10 a.m. on April 1, and an interactive walk with Jesus to the cross on April 5, Maundy Thursday.

Then on Easter Sunday there will be an Easter celebration service at the Kroc Welcome Center at 10 a.m., a community BBQ at noon at Hall Park, just one hour before the Fire Department Easter Egg Hunt at Hall Park begins at 1 p.m.

Just to be clear: Hall park will be clear of construction equipment in time for the Easter happenings, as confirmed by both the Fire Department and Kroc Center folks.

PLUS! There is still space for the Kroc Summer Camps!

  •        June 11-15 Zoo-niversity -- one week of focus on animal classification of reptiles, mammals, amphibians, birds and fish. Other activities will include field games, swimming, reading and/or rock climbing.
  •        June 18-22 Bugged out! Fun with bug facts and interactions with creepy crawlies, plus other activities that includes field games, swimming, reading and perhaps rock climbing.
  •        July 2-6 (No camp July 4) Tricked out! Magic Camp -- Campers learn magic tricks and magic performance strategies, including a camp-ending show the kids perform with a real magician. Other activities will include field games, swimming, reading and/or rock climbing.
  •        July 9 – 13 Science Camp – Campers will learn about the cause of volcanoes, the wonders of space and more earthly botany. Other activities will include swimming, reading, field games or rock climbing.
  •        July 16-20 Art-Rageous – The week fill focus on classic arts like drawing, sculpting and painting while also adding in some other forms like dance, cooking and writing. Other activities will include field games, swimming, reading and/or rock climbing.
  •        July 23-27 Going Green – Campers will learn about the wonders of recycling, different types of energy and how to conserve it and why it’s important with hand on activities. Other activities will include field games, swimming, reading and/or rock climbing.
  •        July 30 - August 3 Trekking the Globe – Campers will experience a wide variety of activities, food, and crafts from around the world. Other activities will include field games, swimming, reading and/or rock climbing.
  •        August 6 – August 10 Olympics – As the 2012 summer Olympics get in full swing, campers will participate in parallel activities.
