Veterans Day Parade Set For Downtown Fairfield
Parade starts at 12:30p.m. after a 10 a.m. commemoration at the Fairfield Center for the Creative Arts.
The Fairfield Main Street Association is gearing up for tomorrow's Veterans Day Parade in downtown Fairfield. The association, the Fairfield Redevelopment Agency and Fairfield Chevrolet & Subaru sponsored the event this year.
Here's the information and the parade line up from the Main Street Association:
The theme for this year’s event is “All Gave Some, Some Gave All”. The day will begin at 10:00 a.m. the Fairfield Center for Creative Arts (1035 Texas Street) with a concert of patriotic-themed music by Alive Music Orchestra and Ceremony of Remembrance. At 12:30 p.m. the Veterans Day Parade will begin. The parade will assemble on Webster Street at Kentucky Street.

The Veterans Committee has selected Colonel Dwight C. Sones as this year’s parade Grand Marshal. Colonel Dwight C. Sones is the new commander of the 60th Air Mobility Wing, Travis Air Force Base. He is responsible for the combined efforts of all operations and support activities associated with the worldwide air mobility mission. The colonel is responsible for ensuring the readiness and well being of nearly 22,800 active duty, Reserve and civilian personnel and their families.
The parade route will proceed west on Kentucky Street to Taylor Street, where it will turn south. It will turn east on Texas Street, travel through downtown, and turn north again on Washington Street, disbanding between Kentucky and Webster Streets. The reviewing stand and dignitary seating will be placed on Texas Street at Madison Street.
