A 5-alarm grass fire in the Cordelia area is threatening structures, according to a Fairfield fire official.
The fire is producing heavy smoke and flames and affecting traffic on westbound Interstate Highway 80 and Interstate Highway 680 in the unincorporated Cordelia area, according to the CHP.
The CHP first received reports of the fire around 3:45 p.m.
The fire started in Fairfield and moved into unincorporated areas, according to Battalion Chief Bob Stoffel.
