6-Year-Old Boy Injured In Fairfield Hit And Run

Police are searching for a woman with short blond hair driving a Lexus SUV with paper plates

A 6-year-old boy was struck by a hit-and-run driver in Fairfield Thursday afternoon, police said.

Around 2:50 p.m., the 6-year-old was crossing East Travis Boulevard near Dover Avenue when he was hit by a car. The driver fled without stopping and was last seen driving west on East Travis Boulevard, police said.

The boy was injured in the collision but the extent of the injuries was not immediately available, according to police.

The vehicle that fled is described as a newer model Lexus SUV with
paper plates. The driver is a white woman possibly in her 30s with short blonde hair, police said.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run incident and suspect is encouraged to call Fairfield police at 428-7300.
