Kidnapping Hoax Could Cost Family $30,000

ABC News is reporting the Almanza family of Suisun City could be forced to pay $30,000 as the story gains national attention.

ABC News is reporting the family of 17-year-old Christina Almanza of Suisun City could be fined $30,000 for the cost of a multi-agency task force search including the FBI that turned out to be unneeded, police say, because Almanza admitte to making up the story of her kidnapping to gain sympathy from her famly.

The story quotes Suisun City Police Chief Ed Dadisho saying the task force could have been used for legitimate purposes and the police department is seeking full prosecution.
