A teenage girl was found dead in a Fairfield park this morning, a police spokesman said.
A police officer was flagged down around 6:45 a.m. at Allan Witt Park near West Texas Street by a citizen who directed the officer to the body of a young teenage girl, Officer Cleo Mayoral said.
Police have not yet confirmed the identity of the girl, who is described only as a white female in her early teens, Mayoral said.
The death is being investigated as a homicide and the area where she was located remained closed for investigation this afternoon, Mayoral said.
