COMMUTERS: Overturned Water Tanker Closes 680 Ramp that Connects to 80

All lanes of the on-ramp are expected to reopen sometime in the early afternoon.

An overturned water tanker has closed the connector ramp from northbound Interstate Highway 680 to westbound Interstate Highway 80 in Fairfield.

The tanker overturned around 11:30 a.m., a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The CHP issued a Sig-alert at 11:50 a.m. All lanes of the on-ramp are expected to reopen sometime around 2:15 p.m.

A small amount of diesel fuel spilled when the big-rig overturned, according to the CHP. 

The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries, CHP Officer Kevin Bartlett said.
