Sheriff's Office ID's Fairfield's Sixth Homicide Victim

Authorities at the Sheriff's Office identified the body of a young woman found stabbed to death in the backyard of a 4th Street home in Fairfield Saturday morning as that of Cheynah Watson, 19, of Fairfield.

According to the Fairfield Police Department on the day of the discovery:

Fairfield Police Public Information Officer Cleo Mayoral said officers found the body of the young woman, whose name was not released pending notification of next of kin, with fatal stab wounds and in the back yard of a home on the 800 block of 4th Street in Fairfield this morning at 8:32 a.m.

Mayoral declined to release the motive, suspect information or identity of the murdered girl pending the investigation, but said that they will release more information about this crime as soon as they are able to.

This morning's homicide marks the sixth of the year for the Fairfield Police Department.
