Fairfeld Police Set to Celebrate 4 Retirements

The retirement celebration was set for 3 p.m. at Willow Hall.

Four Fairfield police officers are set to retire from the department Thursday and a celebration was in the offing.

The retirement celebration was set for 3 p.m. at Willow Hall, 1000 Kentucky St., organizers said.

To be lauded are: Officer Cary Blasingame, a 23-year veteran of the department; Officer Larry Banks, 25-year veteran; Officer David Fullen, 11-year veteran and Officer Dale Golez, 29-year veteran.

Family and friends of those retiring will make remarks.

Also expected to attend were the city manager and the police chief.

Congratulations to all of the retirees, and thank you for your service to our communities. I'm so happy to know that Officer Larry Banks will still remain a site officer for the Public Safety Academy, despite retirement status. His heart and character are influential to parents and cadets at the school.
