Fairfield Business Owner Walks Down West Texas Street With Scoped Rifle
The owner of Glimpses Coffee Shop caused quite the ruckus Wednesday evening.
Fairfield Police responded to a report of of a person walking into Glimpses Coffee Shop at 1501 W. Texas St. in Fairfield around 7:14 p.m. Wednesday with a gun, but a short investigation determined the gun-toting individual was the coffee shop owner.
"It's not normal during commute time to see someone walking down West Texas Street with a rifle," Fairfield Police Sgt. Franco Cesar said.
Calls came in late Wednesday afternoon that a man was walking down West Texas Street with a scoped rifle slung across his shoulder.

"We had to educate him on how to do it (carry a rifle in the open)," Cesar said.
Cesar said police tried to contact the business via phone after arriving on scene but recieved no answer, which led police to approach the business with helmets and shields. Cesar said SWAT was not called in.

The area where Glimpses is located, Cesar said, is known for robberies.
