Fairfield Homicide Victim Identified

The Solano County coroner's office identified Wednesday night's shooting victim.

The Solano County coroner's office has identified the man who was
fatally shot on Hayes Street late Wednesday night as 20-year-old Jesus Adrian
Amaya of Fairfield.
Amaya died of a single contact gunshot wound to the head and neck
and was pronounced dead at 12:32 a.m. today, coroner's Deputy Jackson Harris
said.
Police received a call around 11:55 p.m. Wednesday about shots
fired in the area of Utah and Hayes streets, Sgt. Jeff Osgood said.
As officers were responding, police received another call from a
resident in the 1000 block of Hayes Street about a shooting victim who needed
medical assistance, Osgood said.
Police found the shooting victim unconscious in the front yard of
a home.
He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, Osgood
said.
The Police Department's gang and major crimes units are
investigating whether the murder is gang-related, Osgood said.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the
gang unit at (707) 428-7600 or Crime Stoppers at (707) 644-STOP. Crime
Stoppers is offering a reward up to $1,000 for information leading to the
arrest of the suspect.
It was the second homicide in Solano County in two days.
Dorian Walls, 38, of Vallejo, died of multiple gunshot wounds in
the driveway of a residence in the 20 block of Reis Avenue in a pocket of
unincorporated Solano County within Vallejo city limits Tuesday night.
Solano County sheriff's deputies responded to the shooting around
7:40 p.m. Tuesday.
Sheriff's Lt. Gary Faulkner confirmed this afternoon that Walls'
1-year-old daughter was present at the shooting scene.
The unharmed infant was found in a car seat inside the vehicle
Walls was driving and was examined by medical responders at the scene,
Faulkner said.
