Fairfield Marks 7th Homicide Of The Year With Double Shooting

BREAKING NEWS: Officer Cleo Mayoral of the Fairfield Police Department said two people were shot in front of a bar at the 600 block of Parker Road. one was dead on scene and the other is being transferred to a hospital.

This marks the seventh homicide in Fairfield and the first of April.

The month of March has particulary been violent in Fairfied with four other murders occuring. On March 7, Vedell Chew, 24, of Fairfield, and Bernard Francis Knight, 18, of East Palo Alto, were both shot and killed in an apparent drug deal gone bad; then on March 12, 47-year-old Clarence James was fatally shot while standing in front of a home on the 1100 block of Hayes Street. On March 31, 19-Year-old Cheynah Watson was found stabbed in the backyard of a residence on 4th street. Police named 41-year-old Fairfield resident Warren Sloan as the suspect.

One person was killed and another critically injured in a shooting outside a bar in Fairfield tonight, police said.

The shooting occurred outside a bar in the 600 block of Parker Road, near Travis Air Force Base, at around 8:45 p.m., according to Officer Cleo Mayoral.

One victim was pronounced dead at the scene and another was taken to a hospital in critical condition, Mayoral said.

No suspect information was immediately available.
