Press Release from the Fairfield Police Department:

On Sunday, September 30, 2012 at 2:23pm the Fairfield Police Department received a phone call from a subject who advised that he was currently driving behind his vehicle which he had reported stolen earlier that morning. The caller was able to stay on the line and provide updates on his location until Fairfield Police Officers were able to arrive.

As officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver lost control and crashed into bushes at the intersection of Peppertree Dr and Cement Hill Rd. The driver then ran from the vehicle into the neighborhood south of the collision. A perimeter was quickly established and officers began a thorough yard to yard search for the suspect.

Ofc. Garcia and his K-9 partner Jack located the suspect hiding under the deck in a yard in the 1000 block of Valley Oak Way.

A 16 year old Fairfield resident was arrested as a result of this incident. He was booked into Solano County Juvenile Hall on charges of vehicle theft, evading an officer, and possession of stolen property.
