Fairfield Police Arrest Six, Recover Two Guns

Police arrest six men after responding to a call of gambling taking place on Dana Ct

Info from the Fairfield Police Department:

On July 1, 2012 at 7:36pm Fairfield Police Dispatch received a call from a resident, who wished to remain anonymous, in the 1100 block of Dana Dr reporting a group of males to the rear of the apartments who were gambling.  Officers responded to the area and found a group of seven males in the rear parking lot of one of the apartment complexes.  When the officers arrived one suspect, described as a dark skinned, black male, 5’8”, 160 pounds, wearing a hat, no shirt and baggy blue jeans, fled and jumped the fence into the neighboring yard.  The other six suspects were detained on scene.

An area check was conducted for the subject who fled.  The subject was not located, but a loaded .380 semi-automatic handgun was found in the yard that the suspect jumped into.  A second gun, a loaded .22 cal revolver was also located near the six suspects who had been detained to the rear of the apartments.  The six suspects were all arrested on weapon and gambling charges.  One of the suspects was also arrested for possessing 21 MDMA (ecstasy) pills.

Lorenzo Jones a 21 year old Fairfield resident, Bernardo Winston an 18 year old Vacaville resident, Jovante Goodwin a 19 year old Suisun resident, Donta Davenport a 19 year old Vallejo resident, and Nathaniel Edwards a 39 year old San Francisco resident were all booked on charges of gambling and possession of a loaded firearm.  The sixth suspect, a 16 year old Fairfield resident was booked on charges of gambling, possession of a loaded firearm, and possession of a controlled substance.

 

With the help of a citizen, concerned for the safety of his/her neighborhood, Fairfield Police officers were able to take two guns off of the street.
