Information from Fairfield Police Department:
On July 23, 2012 at 11:58am Fairfield Police Dispatch received a call from a neighbor on El Basset Ct stating that two subjects had been seen jumping the fence into the neighbor’s yard.
The caller, who wished to remain anonymous, said that he saw two subjects knock on the door of the residence and then attempt to look inside before jumping into the rear yard. Knowing that their neighbor was not home the resident contacted the Fairfield Police Department to report the suspicious activity.
Officers responded to the residence and set up a perimeter. As officers were approaching the residence, one subject was contacted exiting the residence. That subject was detained and a search of the residence was conducted. During the search officers found evidence which lead them to believe that the second suspect may be hiding in the attic space.
Officers, donned gas masks, used a pepperball in the attic space and began a search of that area. The second suspect, identified as Lee Owens, was located hiding in the attic. He was taken into custody without further incident. Lee Owens is a 20 year old Fairfield resident.
Lee Owens was booked into Solano County Jail on charges of conspiracy, resisting arrest and burglary. The juvenile was booked into Solano County Juvenile Hall on charges of conspiracy and burglary.
Thanks to an alert neighbor, who was willing to contact the Fairfield Police Department, two burglars are now in custody.
