Fairfield Police Double Up, Find Drug Suspects With Guns

As resources allow, Fairfield police are putting two officers together for added enforcement.

Farifield police arrested three suspects for drug and weapons violations Monday evening at 7:30 p.m. Here's the information according to Fairfield Police:

Officer Becky Belk and Officer Tom Shackford were assigned to work a crime suppression detail patrolling high crime areas as a two-officer car.  They spotted a Chevy Tahoe occupied by three men at West Texas Street and First Street. The officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle for a traffic violation and contacted the occupants. While speaking with the driver, the officers smelled an odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle. The driver admitted there was marijuana in the car.

The officers requested the driver step out of the vehicle and he complied. He was identified as Samuel Guzman, 22 years, of Fairfield. The front seat passenger was asked to step out of the vehicle. He complied and as he was patted down for weapons, Officer Shackford located a loaded Glock 40 caliber handgun tucked in his waistband. This suspect also had several baggies containing cocaine inside his pants pocket.  He was identified as Alejandro Jimenez, 18 years of Vallejo. The third passenger was removed from the vehicle and identified as Orlando Vidana, 23 years, of Fairfield.  A search of the vehicle yielded over an ounce of marijuana, over an ounce of cocaine and another loaded handgun (Springfield 45 caliber) reported stolen out of Vallejo.
