Fairfield Police Arrest Anthony Lamar Jones, 32, in Suisun City Girl's Homicide Case

"We have evidence linking Jones to this homicide," said a Fairfield police spokesperson."

UPDATE: Fairfield police have arrested Anthony Lamar Jones, 32, of Fairfield in the homicide of Genelle Conway-Allen. 

"We have evidence linking Jones to this homicide and we believe at
this time that he acted alone," said Fairfield Police Sgt. Rebecca Belk.

Police had identified the suspect early, and kept him on 24-hour surveillance during the investigation.

Police did not answer any questions beyond what was offered in the statement.

Police also released a statement from Genelle's foster family thanking police for making the arrest. 

"All of us were so anxious for our children and community," the statement said. "Finally with tears in our hearts, we can now begin to say goodbye to sweet Genelle."

A vigil is planned for Genelle at Allan Witt Park at 6:30 p.m. today.

ORIGINAL STORY: An arrest has been made in connection with the killing of 13-year-old Suisun City girl, Genelle Conway-Allen, according to the Fairfield Police Department. 

Her body was found naked last Friday at Allan Witt Park in Fairfield. The man who found her spoke to the Fairfield Daily Republic shortly after the incident. 

"Police are holding a news conference at 11:30 a.m. at the Fairfield City Council chambers to provide further details about the case," according to Bay City News Service.
