Police say a 15-year-old boy stabs stepfather 5 times

On July 1, 2012, at 11:40 PM, Fairfield Police Officers responded to a report of a man stabbed in the 700 block of Georgia Way.  Officers arrived and located a 29 year old Fairfield man who had been stabbed 5 times in the upper back. Patrol officers determined the man and his long time girlfriend of 9 years, a 34 year old Fairfield woman, live together and have three children as a result of their relationship. In addition, both are raising her 15 year old son from a previous relationship. Just prior to this incident, the man was involved in a domestic violence incident with his girlfriend and struck her in the face several times. She sustained facial injuries but declined medical assistance.

The physical assault was witnessed by the 15 year old son. The young man retrieved a 7” fixed blade knife and stabbed his stepfather five times in the upper back in an effort to protect his mother. The man sustained serious but non-life threatening wounds. He was transported to NorthBay Medical Center by ambulance. The knife was recovered as evidence and everyone present was interviewed.

The 15 year old boy was booked into Juvenile Hall for Assault with a Deadly Weapon. A criminal complaint was also sent to the District Attorney’s Office requesting a charge of Felony Domestic Violence against the father. The father was not arrested due to his injuries and pending medical treatment.
