Dog Rescued From House Fire on Wylie Place (UPDATED)

Upon arrival, they discovered that the blaze started with a kitchen fire.

 

The Fairfield Fire Department responded to a fire alarm on Wylie Place shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday. Upon arrival, they discovered that the blaze started with a kitchen fire. The building on Wylie Place is a residence. 

In addition to containing the fire, they also rescued a dog.

As of 10:40 p.m., the fire is under control, according to the Fairfield Fire Department. We'll update when we have more information. Crews are still at the scene.

Upon their arrival engine 39's crew found a working fire in the kitchen area of the home. Alarm was upgraded to a first alarm including engines 40, 41, and 37 as well as battalion 37. Once other engines arrived on scene firefighters were able to make entry, contain and extinguish the fire. Firefighters were able to rescue the occupants dog that was still in the residence. Heavy damage to kitchen and damage to other portions of the house due to smoke and heat. No injuries were reported.
