Suisun City man suspected of running from crash in Fairfield

Police arrested a Suisun City man Sunday afternoon after allegedly smashing an Audi into a center divider and running away from officers in Fairfield.

Officers spotted Michael Aquino, 19, running a red light on Manuel Campos Parkway toward Dover Avenue in a Green 2001 Audi A4 at about 1:10 p.m., police said.

Minutes later, the Audi was spotted on Dover Avenue where it had hit a center divider. Aquino allegedly ran from the car and jumped fences into the backyards of nearby homes, according to police.

A female passenger was found in the car with minor injuries. She was taken to a local hospital.

Officers established a perimeter near where Aquino fled and caught him about 30 minutes later as he attempted to cross a creek, police said.

Aquino was treated at a local hospital and then booked into Solano County jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, resisting arrest, and driving without a license.
