Man Hospitalized After Being Found Motionless on Street

The 34-year-old Fairfield man appeared to have major injuries to his face.

A man is at a hospital after police found him lying motionless in the middle of a street in Fairfield early this morning, police said.

Officers responded to a report of a man lying injured and unconscious in the middle of the street in the 1200 block of Texas Street at about 2:15 a.m., police said.

Police found the man, tentatively identified as a 34-year-old Fairfield resident, suffering from major facial injuries, according to police. He was transported to Northbay Medical Center to be treated for his injuries, police said.

As of 7:30 a.m., the man was in serious condition, according to police. Police said the investigation is continuing to determine if the injuries were the result of a hit-and-run collision or an assault.
