PAL Program Helps Kids Shape Up and Get in Shape

The program helps kids improve their health and self-image.

The Fairfield Police Activities League (PAL) invites members to register for INSHAPE / Sport coaching and consultations.  The INSHAPE program is a motivational intervention and coaching program that aims to enhance positive self-images in youth and to increase health-enhancing habits while teaching participants how to avoid substance abuse.  Participation begins with a brief Health and Fitness Behavioral Screening and a one-on-one fitness consultation.

Students will meet with a trained Development Coach to explore their own personal goals and develop a simple fitness prescription to achieve positive behaviors or lifestyle commitments necessary to achieve their goals. Students will also participate in booster sessions, challenges and clinics, and will learn which behaviors to avoid and techniques to help them reach their goals.

Consultations will be held Monday and Tuesdays at the PAL Center between 5:30 PM and 8:30 PM.  Boosters, group workshops and challenges will be offered on Thursdays.  INSHAPE Coaching is available to all PAL members.

The Fairfield PAL program offers Fairfield, Suisun, and Travis teens a place to grow, learn, and build the skills they need today and in the future. The PAL Center offers teens a safe environment, supports working families and helps students achieve goals by providing them with opportunities.

The Fairfield PAL Program is open to Fairfield, Suisun, and Travis adolescents enrolled in grades seven through twelve. A $10 annual membership can be purchased at the Fairfield Community Center (1000 Webster Street) Monday through-Thursday between 11:30 AM-5:30 PM. A current student ID is required to register.
