Person Shot While Riding In Car On Air Base Parkway

The vehicle's driver pulled into the Fairfield Walmart parking lot to seek help.

Fairfield police are investigating a Monday afternoon shooting that injured a person in a car on Air Base Parkway.

Employees at the Wal-Mart at 2701 N. Texas St. called police around 1:20 p.m. after the occupants of a vehicle that pulled into the store's parking lot told them someone had fired a gun into their car as they drove on nearby Air Base Parkway, Sgt. Jeff Osgood said.

One of the car's occupants was injured and was taken to a hospital and later released, Osgood said.

Detectives are still investigating the shooting, Osgood said this morning.
