Police Log: Prowler On the Loose

Police warn that a prowler has been entering homes through unlocked doors and windows

Suisun City police are warning residents to make sure their doors and windows are locked at night.

This morning the issued a warning through its nixle.com warning system:

Over the past two weeks, a prowler has been entering unlocked homes either by front, side or rear doors in the early morning hours while residents were asleep. The prowler appears to favor wallets and purses. The prowling has occurred just off of Pintail Dr. east of Emperor Dr. and in the Montebello area.

Residents are urged to remember to lock their doors. Windows opened for ventilation should not be opened so wide as to allow someone easy access. Wood dowels or window locks should be used to prevent someone from easily opening the window farther.

Residents are encouraged to telephone the police immediately if a suspected prowler is seen. Be prepared to describe the prowler to the Dispatcher and his direction of travel.
